Celestine Box
Celestine usually forms columnar and tabular crystals, fibrous aggregates and concretions. It can be colourless, white or light blue, but there are also transparent celestines. The most beautiful colourless and blue crystals with high lustre are from Majunge, Madagascar. The most popular are the sky blue varieties, which gave celestine its name (the Latin word coelestis means celestial/ heavenly). Raw celestine is very soft and fissile, therefore it is processed only manually.
