Amethyst Zambia
Amethyst is a purple gemstone – a variety of quartz. The striking colour of this stone is a result of ionisation pointed at a small admixture of iron compounds in the stone’s structure. Amethyst forms inside basalt cavities, where it creates large crystals. The richest deposits of this mineral are in Brazil. This rough material comes from Zambia in southern Africa.
