Obsidian Rainbow Jumbo
Obsidian or volcanic glass is a material with a unique formation, during which hot lava cools rapidly, e.g. in water or on the Earth’s surface. The process is so fast that the individual minerals do not have enough time to crystalize. This piece is from Mexico.
Stone´s uniqueness: Rainbow obsidian is captivating for its dark, gently banded design. If the stone is cut in the right way, the light refraction on its tiny little layers provides marvellous rainbow-like effects.
Special conditions/ treatment: Obsidian is stable against most acids. However, be careful when handling with the stone, as it is fragile.
About the product: We offer big tumbled stones in size XXL+ and Jumbo. Under size XXL+ we classify stones with weight up to 150 g, Jumbo stones are above 150 g. Both variants are available only in 5 kg package.
