Obsidian Smoky
Obsidian, or volcanic glass, is a material with a unique formation, during which hot lava cools rapidly, e.g. in water or on the Earth’s surface. The process is so fast that the individual minerals do not have enough time to crystalize.
Smoky Obsidian uniqueness: You can find smoky obsidian under its other name – mahogany obsidian. The stone stands out with its brown colour, which is influenced by iron admixtures in its structure. Brown stones from Armenia even resemble smoky quartz. Smoky obsidian is translucent, and you can often observe straight, inside banding and small bubbles. The bubbles are inclusions “trapped” inside the stone during the rapid solidification of volcanic glass.
Special conditions/ treatment: Obsidian is stable against most acids. However, be careful when handling with the stone, as it is fragile.
About the product: The product is packed in firm plastic bags.
