Tiger’s eye is a formed by a several centimetre-thick vein hidden in a brown quartzite. To reach to it, a large portion of the parent rock must be mined before tiger’s eye unveils. Popular variants with one or more tiny hematite veins occur in a single mine in the world. Currently, the mine is shut down.
