Emerald
Emerald is widely known for its signature green colour. The stone is a gemstone variety of beryl, which, from the chemical structure point of view, is a silicate of aluminium and beryllium. Emerald is formed by regular hexagonal crystals, and its colour is a result of a small admixture of chromium oxide. The most valued emeralds are mined in Chivor and Muzo in Colombia.
