Obsidian Silver
Obsidian, or volcanic glass, is a material with a unique formation, during which hot lava cools rapidly, e.g. in water or on the Earth’s surface. The process is so fast that the individual minerals do not have enough time to crystalize. Obsidian comes from Mexico.
Stone´s uniqueness: Silver obsidian stands out with its grey-black colour and a striking, silver lustre influenced by tiny air bubbles and admixtures in the stone.
Special conditions/ treatment: Obsidian is stable against most acids. However, be careful when handling with the stone, as it is fragile.
About the product: Stone has been smoothed out into a round flat shape. We sell smooth stones in 1 kg package; however some of them are available also in 0.5 and 0.25 kg variant.
