Chrysoprase
Chrysoprase is an apple-green variety of chalcedony, which is a general name for a broad group of minerals. We distinguish individual varieties according to the admixtures in the stone structures’. As chrysoprase contains a small admixture of nickel, it boasts a light green colour. The most popular deposits are in Brazil and Australia, which is where our material is from too. If we look at its chemical structure, chrysoprase is a common cryptocrystalline variety of quartz.
