Obsidian Rainbow Soap
Obsidian, or volcanic glass, is a material with a unique formation, during which hot lava cools rapidly, e.g. in water or on the Earth’s surface. The process is so fast that the individual minerals do not have enough time to crystalize. This piece is from Mexico.
Rainbow Obsidian uniqueness: Rainbow obsidian is captivating for its dark, gently banded design. If the stone is cut in the right way and it is exposed to a strong bright light, rainbow-like effects can appear due to a light refraction.
Special conditions/ treatment: Obsidian is stable against most acids. However, be careful when handling with the stone, as it is fragile.
About the product: Obsidian has been polished into an oval shape. 1 kg package contains stones with size approximately 4 - 7 cm.
