Shattuckite/Chrysocolla B
Shattuckite is a copper silicate, which got its unusual name after Shattuck Mine in Arizona, where it was discovered in 1915. The stone’s deposits are in the USA, Argentina, Namibia or Congo. However, this piece is from Namibia.
Shattuckite uniqueness: Shattuckite is noted for its striking blue colour. In places it may also have striking turquoise and greenish tones.
Special conditions/ treatment: As shattuckite often occurs with other minerals (in paragenesis), we do not recommend cleaning it with chemical detergents.
